Abstract Scope |
Focusing on low-cost catalysts for green hydrogen energy and wastewater treatment is an intriguing line of research and application. The success of this strategy relies significantly on electrocatalysts and photocatalytic oxidation, fostering sustainable energy production through water-splitting processes and acting as high-performance catalysts for oxidizing organic pollutants in wastewater. The tuned band gap exceeds the potential required for both applications, facilitating the reduction of water to produce hydrogen ions while holes interact with oxygen anions on the cathode side.
The goal of this work is to demonstrate that rGO or other TMO nanomaterials amplify the electronic conductivity of CeO2, thereby facilitating efficient hydrogen production and optimizing catalytic activities. Electrons from CeO2-based composites can be transferred to rGO nanosheets, enabling interfacial charge redistribution. Furthermore, the aggregation of electrons on the rGO nanosheets can bolster carbon and hydrogen bonding, thereby boosting the HER performance. |
