Presentation Title Agglomeration at Swerim – From Residual Materials to Tests at Pilot or Industrial Scale

Abstract Scope Swerim is an industrial research institute in Sweden. Swerim conducts needs-based industrial research and development concerning metals and their route from raw material to finished product. An important part of the Swerim`s research activities is agglomeration of residual materials. Different pretreatment and agglomeration methods is often used due to the large difference in characteristics for residuals materials. Several tools of agglomeration is necessary in order to match the challenges of residual materials and the final requirements of application. Swerim has today equipment for agglomeration using pelletizing, granulation, vibro-press briquetting, roller-press briquetting as well as extrusion. Some agglomeration examples will be presented demonstrating the process from pre-treatment to metallurgical verification tests at a pilot or industrial scale.
