Abstract Scope |
The development of functional chalcogenide optical phase change materials (PCMs) holds significant promise for advancing optics and photonics applications. In this work, we present a comprehensive investigation into the fabrication, processing, and characterization of homogeneous thin solution-based Sb2Se3 films, with the goal of establishing a route for future solution-based chalcogenide film suitability as efficient PCMs. This research demonstrates the synthesis of Sb2Se3 films through experimental solution processing and drop casting techniques. The resulting thin films are characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), in-situ Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) which provides insights into their structural, compositional, and morphological properties. The integration of these Sb2Se3 films with Silicon on Insulator (SOI) micro-heater arrays is then explored. |
