Abstract Scope |
In this study, test specimens in which the injector channels of a propellant were implemented were fabricated with XM-19 alloy through a powder bed fusion. And the characterization of the surface integrity of the channels and mechanical test were carried out. The porosity and surface roughness of the channels were quantitatively evaluated through optical microscopy and 3D scanning, respectively. And mechanical properties were evaluated through micro-hardness and tensile tests. The trends of surface roughness according to the process parameters were observed differently depending on the inclination angle of the channel. Especially, dense layers without pores were observed at the surface of the channels, which suppressed the exposure of the pores to the surface of the channel. In the case of the tensile test, it was confirmed that stable strength and fracture elongation appeared when the porosity was less than 0.1 % |
