Abstract Scope In this paper, the reaction behavior of sulfur in flotation desulfurization concentrate was studied. The effects of lime addition , temperature and time on the digestion performance of bauxite and the digestion rate of sulfur were studied. Under the test conditions, with the increase of lime addition and the prolongation of digestion time, the digestion rate of sulfur in the concentrate increases, and the digestion temperature has little effect on the digestion rate of sulfur. When sodium nitrate is added, the proportion of S2- in the digestion liquor decreases significantly, and the sulfur content in bauxite residue increased. The adverse effect of sulfur on the production system can be reduced by adding sodium nitrate.
