Abstract Scope |
The relationship between microstructure and properties is fundamental to materials science, and innovative microstructure designs are crucial for the development of new advanced materials. Among various architectural designs, 3D interconnected materials have garnered significant attention due to their numerous advantages. The liquid metal dealloying (LMD) process, in particular, has been actively studied over the past decade as a method for creating these 3D interconnected structures. One of the primary benefits of LMD is its applicability to non-noble elements, as it prevents oxidation by maintaining low oxygen concentrations within the molten metal. Despite the progress made in developing new 3D interconnected materials and exploring their potential using LMD processes, research in this area remains in its early stages, and much ground remains to be covered. |
