Abstract Scope |
High entropy alloys have been extensively investigated and some of these alloys have shown unique mechanical behaviors. In this presentation, we will show, in a custom-designed Al alloy fabricated by laser powder bed fusion, medium entropy intermetallics nanoprecipitates form. Macroscale compression tests show a combination of high strength, over 600 MPa, and prominent plastic deformability. In situ microcompression studies reveal significant back stress in the additive Al alloys. The deformation mechanisms of additive alloys with medium entropy intermetallics are discussed. |
