Abstract Scope |
In this study, solid solutions of the Ba1-3xCr2xTi1-3xEr4xO3 type, with x = 0 and 0.15 (wt. %) were synthesized using ball milling for 6 h employing zirconia balls of three different diameter sizes (2.95 mm, 5.05 mm, and 6.48 mm) with acetone as control agent. The resulting powders were sintered at 1200°C for 6 h using a heating rate of 4° C/min in air atmosphere. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results reveal the crystal phase ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3. 8 mm diameter capacitors were manufactured and sintered at 1200 °C for 6 h and heating rate of 4° C/min in air atmosphere, later its dielectric properties were determined. The results revealed significant changes in capacitance value for the doped sample compared to undoped BaTiO3, demonstrating enhanced dielectric properties due to the co-doping of Er3+ and Cr3+. Additionally, structural and morphological evolution of the samples was analyzed by High resolution Scanning Electron Microscopy (HRSEM-EDX). |
