Abstract Scope |
Severe deformation processes have been shown to produce gradient microstructures in grain size, crystallographic textures, and defect content. Using novel deformation strategies, designed heterogeneous microstructures can be developed that result in increased strength while retaining reasonable ductility. Quantification of these structures is required for mechanistic understanding of the processes involved in structure evolution. AZ31 Magnesium and pure copper are used as example materials in this work. |
