Abstract Scope |
To better understand the mechanisms underlying cell behavior in vivo, cell cultures in vitro are frequently used. Cell cultures in vitro need to provide a biological cross-talk between cells and the scaffold which is controlled by the scaffold’s material properties and characteristics. Fabricating cell culture membrane for every experiment is expensive, however, by creating simulation and optimize it through comparison of experimental data and simulation data, the simulation can assist in prediction of structural behavior of cell culture scaffoldings. Utilizing electrospinning technique to fabricate ECM-mimicking fibrous scaffolds and use COMSOL Multiphysics software to create simulation on how the scaffold design will behave with specific material property. This project aims to fabricate 2-dimensional cell culture scaffolding, with controlled porosity and material properties, to control the direction of cell growth and compare the behavior of experimental data with simulation data of the cell culture scaffold. |
