Abstract Scope |
Nanocrystalline alloys have been found to increase the properties of traditional engineering materials. Touchstone and Veloxint have developed nanocrystalline technology in such a way that they are able to harness the potential of these alloys with the assistance of refractory metals. Using Chrome, Tungsten and Tantalum as either the major or minor phase in the alloy, properties have been observed to exceed those of traditional engineering materials and super alloys. Veloxint's current products consist of Chrome, Tungsten and Copper based alloys, however there are many other refractory alloy combinations which have the thermodynamic and/or kinetic potential to be commercialized using nanocrystalline technology. |
