Abstract Scope Hindalco Muri, an Aditya Birla Group company is engaged in manufacturing of alumina from bauxite ore. Muri has exemplified a commitment to sustainability through its comprehensive approach to resource utilization and waste management. 1. More than 100% utilization of Red Mud (waste of refinery) in cement and road construction. 2.100% utilization of Ash (waste from power plant) in cement and brick industries. 3. Water consumption reduced substantially by 12.7% in FY24 from FY21. 4. 36 acres area of alkaline red mud yard (legacy) converted to lush green by using soil amenders. 5. Carbon emission reduction by 18.5% since FY21 6. 100% recycling of plastic waste and conversion of Municipal waste to usable compost for vegetation ensuring zero waste to landfill. Muri Alumina refinery is one of the most sustainable units which is operating by utilizing 100% waste for various applications.
