Abstract Scope |
In this study, the defective imperfections of thinning, fracture, wrinkling, and stretching had been optimized at the same time. The objective functions are defined according to the forming limit curve. By using the DOE design methods, the relationship between seven process variables (geometric parameters and blank holder force) and the defined objective functions are estimated. Subsequently, using the multi-objective optimization, the objective functions are simultaneously optimized and are verified. Explicit dynamic finite element analysis has been employed to simulate the sheet forming process to increase the reliability of the optimization procedure. The effect of the process parameters on the objective functions has been investigated. A trapezoidal cube workpiece has been selected as the case study and the St14 steel sheet has been selected as sheet material. The proposed method is an effective solution for designing optimal parameters and achieving better product quality without trial-and-error techniques. |
