Abstract Scope |
The protection of the cultural heritage sites is a major challenge for the archeologist and scientists. It has become a major issue of concern due to increasing atmospheric pollution followed by climate change. Beside the environmental factor, other factors like use of inappropriate commercial products and their fast degradation are also responsible for the deterioration of the cultural heritage. To protect the heritage materials, a durable protective coating needs to be developed with hydrophobic and antibacterial properties. In this work, we have synthesized zinc oxide and tin oxide nanocomposite using hydrothermal method. The castor oil-based polyurethane is prepared using sol get method. The nanocomposite is mixed with polyurethane with addition of ethanol to get paint like suspension. The prepared suspension is coated over the black granite substrate using spray coating method. The prepared coating is characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM and XPS. |
