Abstract Scope |
Recently, many devices, as represented by electric vehicles, have become electrified. Precise current control is essential to ensure that electrical devices perform to their full potential, which can be realize by resistors. Resistors require not only the appropriate resistance value but also a low temperature coefficient of resistivity (the rate of change of resistivity with temperature change (TCR)). Depending on application fields, it is expected to develop resistive materials with higher resistivity and lower TCR than the practical material. However, it is generally known that there is a trade-off relationship between the resistivity and TCR (Mooij rule), and it is difficult to achieve both high resistivity and low TCR at the same time. Recently, we found that Fe-Mn-Al-Cr-C alloys deviate from the rule. In this study, we applied heat treatments at various temperatures to Fe-Mn-Al-Cr-C-based alloys and investigated the deviating factors based on the constituent phases and microstructures. |
