| Abstract Scope |
Despite the global surge in spinal disorders and low back pain, the intricate biomechanical function of the spine remains inadequately understood. This study focuses on studying the biomechanics of healthy and diseased human spines using a combination of micro-computed tomography and digital volume correlation method, to characterize the three-dimensional mechanical deformation in the spine under compressive loads. Investigating the biomechanics of the spine is fundamental to understanding its health and function and provides significant implications for the pathological fragility of the spine affected by various diseases. |
