Abstract Scope |
Microstructure evolutions during sintering are significantly affected by the particle structure of a green body and the conditions during sintering. Since the properties of sintered products are significantly affected by their microstructures, numerical simulation studies are crucial to predict and control the microstructure evolutions during sintering. In this study, we systematically investigate the effect of particle shape on sintering behavior using the phase-field method. In the phase-field simulations, we employ a multi-phase-field simulation method that continuously reproduces from powder compaction to sintering. The simulations were performed systematically by changing the particle shape and conditions during compaction and sintering processes. |
