Abstract Scope |
The challenging issue with respect to formability under bi-axial strain-states is the formation of necks in the sheet locations undergoing plane strain. Previous modelling of slit-like nano-voids and its growth have resulted in FLD [1]. The current study is to examine the changes in evolution of the distribution of nano-void nuclei and soft zones under different bi-axial strain states. The new discovery has been that the amount of dynamic dislocation annihilation increases with the reduction in slip systems in accord with the observation that cube texture is most resistant to localized necking. Constitutive relations for any biaxial strain-states [2] are used to compare the predicted limit strains.
