Abstract Scope |
Molten forging technology for manufacturing wheels for large vehicles using A356 alloy is a field of study that has been gaining attention in recent years due to its potential to produce high-strength, lightweight, and cost-effective wheels for heavy-duty applications. The A356 alloy is a material that can represent a lightweight aluminum alloy and is mainly used as a material for the casting process. In particular, the A356 alloy is lightweight. In addition, it has high strength characteristics through the T6 heat treatment process, so it is actively used in the current manufacturing of lightweight parts related to the automobile industry. The recent research trend has been investigating the effect of process parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the wheels. In this study, a wheel for a commercial vehicle was fabricated by performing semi-solid forging through a multi-cavity using a semi-solid A356 alloy. |
