The free and open source parameter identification tool ADAPT (A Diversely Applicable Parameter identification Tool) is applied to calibrate a Lemaitre damage model for the case hardening steel 16MnCrS5. ADAPT enables the consideration of different input data. Integral data such as load-displacement-curves as well as field data such as strain or displacement fields obtained with digital image correlation (DIC) are used. The effects of the individual data sets on the prediction quality are analysed. The model is used to predict the void evolution in forward rod extrusion. The validation is done in terms of experimental void measurements. The use of different types of input data introduces additional information that increases the prediction quality. While a calibration in terms of load-displacement-curves generally predicts the forces well, local data such as strains improve the accuracy of the prediction of the deformation. The void evolution in forward rod extrusion is predicted qualitatively well. |
