Abstract Scope |
Hydride in Zr cladding is an important determinant of their integrity, therefore, understanding of behavior of hydride is crucial. The phase-field method is a very powerful and efficient methodology for microstructure prediction and was applied in this study. The crystallographic orientation of the grains was taken into account, and the microstructure of the hydrides was quantitatively analyzed in terms of how this crystallographic orientation would change if the grain boundaries were changed, and how the segregation of hydrogen atoms at the grain boundaries would affect their precipitation behavior. |
