Abstract Scope |
Unconventional superconductor UTe2 has attracted much attention since its discovery in 2019. Still, many questions remain regarding the intrinsic crystal structure and its affect on the physical properties. In particular, it has been shown that the crystals of UTe2 can be grown in several different ways – Te-flux, chemical vapor transport (CVT), salt flux, as well as salt flux/CVT method. While previous reports have related the differences between Tc, residual resistivity ratio, shape and height of the specific heat anomaly to the particular features of the synthesis route, the complete understanding of underlaying chemical features that cause these differences remains unknown. I will discuss a comprehensive review on the sample-dependence of UTe2 and provide microscopic insight into the origin of differences, reported so far for this peculiar system. |
