| Abstract Scope |
Environmental degradation including high temperature oxidation, sulfate-induced corrosion, and other forms of corrosion attack has been experienced in industrial gas turbine. The specific form of attack depends on the environment and operating conditions that specific parts experience. The work that Brian Gleeson’s group has been conducting has shed light on fundamental understanding as well as to provide a probable solutions. The talk will discuss various form of environmental degradations in industrial gas turbine components and will highlight the environment expected in the next generation gas turbine. |
