| Abstract Scope |
The OSU welding engineering department was inaugurated in January 1948. Welding and the the engineering aspects of welding had been a topic of study at OSU since the 1930's. The establishment of a separate department dedicated to training engineers in the science and technology of welding was both revolutionary and visionary. This presentation will review the history of welding engineering at OSU, including major milestones and a history of faculty involved. The presentation will also summarize the current status and future evolution of the program. |
