Abstract Scope |
Açai is a fruit widely used in the food and cosmetic industry, and which after its use has its wastes, such as stone and natural fiber, discarded in landfills. The objective of this work is to characterize mortars based on cement and lime, as to their consistency, incorporated air content and water retention, in mixtures with additions of 0 (control sample), 2.5 and 5% of natural açai fiber treated in NaOH solution. The results showed that the addition of 2.5% of the treated açai fiber presented the best properties of the freshly evaluated mortar, because the added açai fiber reduces the microporous of the cement matrix. |
