Abstract Scope |
For aluminium reduction cells, ACD has a big impact on current efficiency. When ACD is lower than a critical value, there will be a large current efficiency loss. In this paper, anode current is applied to monitor ACD of each individual anode. Several factors which can affect the anode current are analyzed. It is found that only some specific wave patterns are related to low ACD situation. Based on these findings, an algorithm is developed to process anode current data, enabling accurate prediction of low ACD situations. According to the low ACD prediction, the vertical position of the corresponding anode which has low ACD is adjusted in time. However, too frequent ACD adjustments can inadvertently reduce current efficiency. When proper ACD adjustment frequency is chosen according to the actual situation of the cells, the current efficiency will improve considerably. |
