Abstract Scope |
Soil-cement is an important construction material whose use has received more attention in recent years, emerging as an ecologically sustainable alternative for housing. This study analyzes a structural system of soil-cement bricks using Portland cement and geopolymer to determine mechanical properties and numerical modeling. The mechanical characterization of the blocks, prisms and small walls with dry joints included static analysis under simple compression and analysis of the seismic response through cyclic tests on shear walls. The parametric analysis and calibration of numerical models of static compression tests and cyclic shear tests highlighted the importance of micromodeling to obtain accurate predictions of the experimental capacity curve. These models adequately replicated the concentration of damage in the joints between blocks, corroborating the experimental results. |
