Abstract Scope |
Metal degradation is a natural phenomenon that would happens when metal becomes chemically unstable in its environment. Recently, high-entropy alloys have been studied and developed for many applications, such as structural and high-temperature materials. To ensure their reliability, safety, and lifetime in different environments, corrosion behavior of high-entropy alloys have been studied and recent advancements have been reported. In the past five years, the effects of elements, such as Al, Mo, Cu, Ti, Cr, and Ni in the CoCrFeNi system and the effects of processing parameters were uncovered. Machine learning methods to accelerate the design process of corrosion-resistant high entropy alloys have also been reported. High entropy alloys as biocompatible materials has also been studied. |
