Abstract Scope |
Hydroxyapatite/Collagen bone-like nanocomposite (HAp/Col) had been synthesized by the authors more than two decades ago, and its sponge-like viscoelastic porous body is practically used in Japan for a decade. We already investigated initial bone-tissue reaction of the HAp/Col and revealed that it is completely incorporated into bone remodeling process to be substituted with new bone. From that time, we had found the direct bone bonding of the HAp/Col but had not confirmed it is osteoconduction. However, recent tissue reaction data showed that osteoconduction-like tissue reaction on the thick coating of HAp/Col on Ti. Therefore, in this presentation, further detailed investigation of initial bone tissue reactions of the HAp/Col in SD rats' bone. The results suggest that the HAp/Col induced bone modeling based bone regeneration as well as previously-reported bone remodeling based bone regeneration. |
