Presentation Title Advancing prebaked anode technology: innovations, sustainability, and operational excellence
Author(s) Maxime BERAUD, Fabienne Virieux
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Maxime BERAUD
Abstract Scope A Carbon workshop organized at TMS in 2024 brought together carbon specialists to explore the future of the prebaked anode technology. The panelists depicted a future with several innovation paths for prebaked anodes including alternative raw materials, new anode geometry, digital optimization and lower carbon footprint. As a longstanding leader in carbon plant OEM, Fives’ big challenge is the continuous improvement of the existing carbon plants in order to maximise their capacity, extend their lifetime while improving safety in operation and lowering environmental impact. Recent innovations and activities in these fields are presented with exemple of end-to-end digital optimizations as well as evolution of the carbon plant processes and maintenance
