Abstract Scope |
Additive manufacturing offers a host of unique opportunities to disruptively transform our current approach to production of components for critical applications. This transformation is much needed to reduce the cost and timelines associated with production of these components under strict quality rigor requirements. Nuclear energy systems almost entirely comprise of such components. The transformational challenge reactor (TCR) program takes on this challenge by exploiting additive manufacturing to enable rapid production of high-performance reactor core components with unprecedented quality. The latest technical accomplishments under the TCR program towards realizing the visions described here are summarized in this talk. |
