Due to the increasing utilization rate of vanadium-titanium magnetite, a substantial amount of TiO2-containing slag has accumulated. The phase equilibrium information and thermodynamic properties of CaO-SiO2-MgO-Al2O3-TiO2 system are strongly required to realize the comprehensive utilization of TiO2-containing slag environmentally friendly and efficiently. Experimental measurements, especially for phase diagrams, are critical data to develop a reliable thermodynamic database. In this work, four binary systems of CaO-TiO2, MgO-TiO2, SiO2-TiO2, and Al2O3-TiO2 were selected, and the most recent experimental data and calculated data using FactSage software were compared and evaluated. In particular, the data of the controversial parts of the phase diagrams were discussed and verified by thermal analysis experiments. Ultimately, reliable binary phase equilibrium data were summarized herein to provide reliable input for the improvement of a thermodynamic database of the multi-system more accurately. It further provided a thermodynamic basis for the realization of high value-added utilization of TiO2-containing slag. |
