Abstract Scope |
The twin-roller technique within a nitrogen environment successfully extended the glass-forming range. Alkali tellurite glasses, xM 2 O ・(1-x)TeO 2 , were made using M = Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs. The range has been extended from x = 0.35 to x = 0.80. Glass transition temperatures (T g ), crystallization temperatures (T x ), density(p), and Raman spectra were obtained for these glasses. The molar volume and packing fractions were also been calculated. These data show structural changes and the presence of increasing amounts of carbonate in the glass as the amount of alkali modifier increases.
