Abstract Scope |
Soil contamination by organic pollutants poses significant environmental challenges, necessitating innovative remediation approaches. This mini-review explores the role of manganese oxide nanoparticles in addressing this issue. Manganese oxide nanoparticles exhibit remarkable properties, including high surface area and redox activity, making them promising candidates for soil remediation. This review outlines the sources and characteristics of organic pollutants in soil, elucidates the properties of manganese oxide nanoparticles, and delves into their mechanisms of action. Recent research highlights the efficacy of manganese oxide nanoparticles in removing organic pollutants from soil, underscoring their potential in environmental cleanup. However, challenges related to scalability, long-term effectiveness, and ecological impacts require careful consideration. Looking ahead, future research should focus on advanced nanoparticle design, integration with complementary remediation techniques, and sustainable synthesis methods to propel manganese oxide nanoparticles as a key player in soil remediation efforts. |
