Abstract Scope |
This presentation will discuss the new material test methods recently developed in my laboratory. One is a nonlinear stress path test. A nonlinear stress path is applied to a cruciform test piece or a tubular test piece using the servo-controlled biaxial stress testing apparatus, and the behavior of the stress vector and the direction of the plastic strain rate is measured with the increase of the plastic work. This test method is effective for evaluating the validity of applying a material model determined from the linear stress path experiment to the prediction of the material deformation behavior under the nonlinear stress path. The other is a measurement of the Bauschinger effect of a sheet metal subjected to biaxial loading and biaxial reverse loading using a cruciform test piece. This test method would be effective for making a high precision material model for reproducing the dent resistance of stretch-formed parts, such as automobile outer body panels. |
