Abstract Scope |
Amorphous oft-magnetic materials play an important role as core constituents in improving the energy transformation efficiency of electrical machines and passive electrical components. Although the melt-spinning process remains the main techniques for obtaining amorphous magnetic ribbons having remarkable soft magnetic properties, innovative production methods based on additive manufacturing have been developed.
Hysteresis properties have been studied in Fe-Si-B based alloys obtained in ribbon-shaped and in 3D-printed samples. Full characterization of magnetic properties have been obtained in a wide frequency range conditions for ribbons and printed samples. The interplay among fabrication techniques, microstructure, stress and magnetic properties will be presented to highlight how they concur to reduce hysteresis losses for sustainable applications.
In this talk, the advantages provided by additive manufacturing printing process to control complex geometry (i.e shape and thickness) of motor components maintaining proper structural and magnetic properties in terms of amorphicity and reduced power losses will be discussed. |
