Abstract Scope |
In conventional Li-ion battery production, homogenization of the battery slurry mixture is essential to guarantee a high-quality battery. In the battery slurry mixing process, however, there is a lack of quantitative indicators for uniform mixing, and the battery slurry mixing process is designed through ex-situ observations. In this study, we investigated the acoustic emission from an experimental particle mixture. Alumina particles of various sizes were dispersed in air, water, and silicone oil and the effects of particle size, stirring speed, and solid fraction were investigated. The present results convinced the acoustic emission can be used for in-line analysis of the homogenization of a battery slurry mixture. |
