Abstract Scope |
The mechanical properties of Mg-based AXM alloys can be enhanced through single-pass differential speed rolling (DSR) and conventional rolling (CR) by increasing the proportion of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) grains. The results of the investigation show an increase in DRX grains can occur through increasing the thickness reduction rate, thus improving the strength while maintaining ductility. The results are consistent with literature that demonstrates DSR produces a finer grain microstructure as compared to CR. Simulation through DEFORM 3D has also been used to acquire mechanical properties relevant for Mg-based alloys in the analysis of DRX. |
