Abstract Scope Sustainability has been and remains one of the major focuses of global industry. To achieve this in the aluminium sector, we strive to utilise the recyclable nature of this fantastic metal. This has dictated the direction of our market over recent years and has led many equipment OEMs to pursue design concepts to reduce/reclaim or recycle scrap aluminium and turn it into useful product. In the furnace industry this has given rise to many new and innovation ways to thermally process and melt down post consumer scrap. Mechatherm has been at the forefront of designing and implementing multi-chamber furnaces for this purpose, we have continuously developed our furnace solution which has resulted in the X-series multi-chamber furnace design. In this paper we will present our design concept and why it has become such a successful addition to our portfolio.
