Abstract Scope |
In the present research a numerical model in the Abaqus software was proposed to simulate the behavior of pressed and burned blocks (BPQ) and extruded, pressed and burned blocks (BCEPQ) of red ceramic. The objective was to create a methodology to apply in building projects using the blocks of the present study as Structural Masonry. The deterministic hypothesis was adopted, which provides satisfactory results for the types of materials and load conditions of this work. The material and structure were simulated for the elastic linear behavior and the rupture hypothesis used in the simulation was Rankine's criterion. The results obtained showed equivalence of about 90% compatibility with the experimental data. The safety factor verified in the simulation was 1.88 for the BPQ and 1.94 for the BCEPQ, both lower than the one recommended by the Brazilian standard, which is 2.0. The model still needs to be refined. |
